The Multimedia Center is located in the northeast corner of the main floor of Milner Library. Our DVD collection is located here. In addition, there are options to view DVDs, Blu-ray discs, and VHS tapes with all region coding alone or in group in the Multimedia Center.

DVD Collection
The Multimedia Center houses the library's collection of nearly 5,000 DVDs. Other items in our media collection include thousands of online streaming videos, nearly 5,000 VHS tapes, over 11,000 CDs, and 20,000 LPs. Our film collection offers a broad range of educational films, documentaries, feature films, and performances in music, dance, and theater.
Viewing Equipment
The Multimedia Center has 14 viewing carrels that are available for use when the library is open. Viewing equipment includes:
- 18 HDTVs with built-in DVD players
- 2 theater-style HDTVs with comfortable group seating
- 6 VHS/DVD combination players
- 1 multi-region DVD player
- 1 multi-region VHS player
- 1 Blu-ray disc player

Looking for a film or documentary to watch? Check out this multi-disciplinary video streaming database including educational videos and feature films with a focus on race and gender studies, communication, education, sociology, psychology, health sciences, and the arts.
Adding Streams
The library subscribes to a number of streaming video databases and purchases select individual streaming titles. However, if you need a specific title to show your class, the library will investigate if that title is available to purchase as a streaming video. Each request is considered on a case-by-case basis. Contact your subject librarian to suggest titles for purchase.
DVD & VHS Streaming
Just because the library owns the physical copy of the title on DVD or VHS, that does not mean it has the rights to stream the video. However, Milner Library may be able to license a legal streaming version of the film; the library's ability to do so depends on a number of factors, including but not limited to the availability and cost of a streaming license, ability to contact the publisher, availability of funds, the number of students enrolled in the class, and if the course is online or face-to-face.
